Synopsis: A 3-day program that brought together Turkish and Syrian journalists, civil society leaders and changemakers to exchange experiences, build long-lasting professional networks, and overcome existing common challenges in creative and innovative ways. 

Challenge: Equipping journalists with digital skills and ultimately increasing their digital literacy and communication capacities, to contribute to the broader goal of countering disinformation and misinformation.

Transformation: Leading experts in the field designed trainings around four main themes: digital storytelling, cybersecurity, investigative fact-checking, and project sustainability. Participants were guided through a design thinking process to identify their main challenges and find feasible solutions. Relevant tools  included affinity mapping, personas definition, and prototype ideation. 

Impact: Thanks to the group work and mentorship support provided, participants developed tangible solutions to their initial challenges. 6 project ideas were designed and will be taken forward in the next project phases. This project had also a unique impact in terms of partnership: it brought together three different organizations to work on the common goal of empowering those operating in the information sector.
