Synopsis:

Accelerate2030 is a program co-initiated by Impact Hub Geneva and the UNDP, with a mission to scale internationally the impact of entrepreneurs working towards achieving positive social and environmental change contributing to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. In partnership with Anadolu Efes and UNDP Turkey we ran the program in Turkey. In Accelerate2030 Turkey 2019 edition from 50 applicants 4 ventures had an opportunity to access expert support, workshops, investor and client networks that help entrepreneurs to design their scaling journey.

Challenge

Accelerate2030 is a global, multi-stakeholder program with the mission to scale the impact of  ventures that tackle the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

  The program builds a pioneering ecosystem for scaling the most innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing social and environmental problems. Achieving the Global Goals opens up US$12 trillion of market opportunities in the four economic systems examined by the Commission. These are food and agriculture, cities, energy and materials, and health and well-being. They represent around 60 percent of the real economy and are critical to delivering the Global Goals. To capture these opportunities in full, businesses need to pursue social and environmental sustainability as avidly as they pursue market share and shareholder value. If a critical mass of companies joins us in doing this now, together we will become an unstoppable force. If they don’t, the costs and uncertainty of unsustainable development could swell until there is no viable world in which to do business. In its third year, Accelerate2030 has reached over 2 million people, 40+ partners in 24 countries.

We believe that a paradigm shift towards sustainable business practices is underway, our aim is to enable entrepreneurs to integrate sustainable corporate culture through our leadership coaching. We believe that the future of business relies on sustainable business practices, and a sustainable environment can only be maintaned with the collaboration of those business practices, thereby it is vital for impact-driven entrepreneurs to interiorize UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Transformation: 

In 2019 Accelerate2030 is being implemented across 16 countries, 20 Impact Hubs and 160+ ventures were supported. These ventures were selected from 1100 applications. 

Through this program entrepreneurs got 1-1 business coaching,  mentorship from more than 60 mentors, advisory from BCG consultants, impact measurement and scaling trainings from international experts, business clinics, visibility support from famous journalists 10 selected global finalists also participates global scaling week in Geneva where they meet key partners, investors and pee entrepreneurs and present in UN SDG Finance Summit.

Impact:

How many of the participating organizations took steps to become sustainable?

As of 2018 the program’s ventures have impacted more than 601,000 end users with their innovative solutions for the SDGs. The Accelerate2030 ventures of the last international cohort have created a 41 percent increase in employment.
