Synopsis: Is a semester long program designed for highschool students, to introduce them with the idea of innovation generation and to broaden their vision by showing that they can be part of innovation generation too. 

Challenge: Our aim was to equip the highschool students with the hard and soft skills they need like “3D Modeling, Coding, Design Thinking, Problem Oriented View, Mindfulness, Growth Mindset, Personal Development and Creativity” , in order to shorten the gap between innovation ecosystem and young highschool students we conducted an extensive learning program. Upon the completion of the program, the students were asked to make a prototype of their product and test it using the maker tools we provided.

Trasformation: During 6 weeks the students had the chance to focus on many subjects, the program consisted soft and hard skill training where students first imbibed team working and other self-enriching skills like mindfulness, active listening. At this stage students were asked to developed a project to solve a problem in their everyday life using design thinking techniques. proceeding stage of the program consisted 15-20 hours of tech-oriented training where students had the chance to work with real equipments like 3D printer to produce a prototype of their project. at the end they had to chance to present their accomplisments to Pirelli board, improving their public speaking skills. 

 

Impact: 

The following hard and soft skills were provided to the participating students by following the design thinking steps and the educational contents; organizational skills, self-discipline, confidence, oral presentation, giving feedback, brainstorming, leadership, teamwork empathy, growth mindset, optimism, creativity, problem solving, observation skills, teamwork, awareness,  strategy formulation, asking right questions, open-mindedness, research and analyzing. These skills were mainly focused on making the students more creative and innovative instead of an end-product focused approach. The skills that students acquire will be beneficial to them through their lives.

Synopsis: Accelerate2030 is a program co-initiated by Impact Hub Geneva and the UNDP, with a mission to scale internationally the impact of entrepreneurs working towards achieving positive social and environmental change contributing to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Challenge: Because we believe that a paradigm shift towards sustainable business practices is underway, our aim was to enable entrepreneurs to integrate sustainable corporate culture through our leadership coaching. We believe that the future of business relies on sustainable business practices, and a sustainable environment can only be maintaned with the collaboration of those business practices, thereby it is vital for impact-driven entrepreneurs to interiorize UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Transformation: Through this program entrepreneurs have participated … workshops and …… hours of education, they better understood the concept of UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and got the tools to implement the sustainable development goals to their venture, stepping one step forward by embracing sustainable corporate culture.

Synopsis: Build Your Future aims to help aspiring Syrian entrepreneurs develop their ideas and come up with more concrete solutions to problems they have detected, and turn them into sustainable businesses. Each training consisted of different teaching materials to cover with guest speakers and mentors.

Challenge: To provide Syrians living in Turkey with a step-by-step methodology to systematically establish their enterprise and gain entrepreneurship skills, provide them the necessary tools to ensure that they can sustain their company, inform them about the legal rules and regulations and how to market their product.

Transformation: The program consisted of 1 Info Session, 3 Meetup Sessions , 2 Ideathons, 1 Bootcamp and a pitching night. The Ideathons were 1 day long intense workshops with creative idea generation exercises and the milestone for becoming an entrepreneur. The modules included activities that adapted Liberating Structures methodology. After the ideathons, selected group of entrepreneurs proceeded to an intensive training (Bootcamp). The aim of the training was to help the participating immigrants to envision the future of their ideas, identify the foundational assumptions that underpin their ideas, design and run experiments to validate or invalidate those foundational assumptions through customer discovery, understand the basics of communication skills, understand the fundamentals of creating a financial and strategic plan, engage with world-class mentors and understand the effective methods to tell their story to potential partners and investors. The whole training’s format was structured such that the “trainers” positioned themselves as facilitators, not lecturers. This way, Impact Hub team along with the program organizers and mentors, could walk on the same entrepreneurial journey with the entrepreneurs instead of being lecturers who provide specific technical skills for a short period of time. 


Impact: The intensive training ensured that the participants acquired the necessary skill sets in order to turn their enterprises into sustainable and profitable businesses. The hard and soft skills were provided to them by using tools like design thinking steps, theory of change, lean canvas etc. and with continuous mentoring support. After the trainings, the participants learned how to change an idea into a product. The program also helped the Syrian entrepreneurs to get to know each other and experienced mentors from related sectors and helped the formation of a new ecosystem of Syrian peers.

Synopsis: is a unique acceleration program, tailored for purpose driven entrepreneurs aiming to foster social inclusion of children and youth in Brazil, Germany, Malaysia and Turkey. Over a duration of 6 months, 10 participating teams engage in a systematic review of their business model, strategy and team before crafting a validated growth and investment plan. At the end of the program, participants have the chance to pitch in front of a jury for the Allianz Future Generations Award (40.000 €).

Challenge: Our aim is to equip purpose-driven entrepreneurs, who works for fostering social inclusion of children and young people, with everything they need to know in order to attract the right capital for their organisation, while bringing investors and entrepreneurs together, to meet and collaborate to scale environmental, social and financial benefit.

Transformation: We pick entrepreneurs up where they are and guide them through an intense and mindset shifting experience. All participants go through a highly customised program with individual support and coaching by experienced investors, Allianz mentors and content experts.

Impact: Scode is an app that teaches coding with storytelling and gamification. they perform astronaut tasks in the space scenario while providing motivation to children through fun trainings. Enabling children to make their own products, they get rid of the prejudices that hinder to produce.Reflect is a clothing brand transforming fashion as a driver of social impact for vulnerable communities including children and youth. They offer quality garment products, which are designed sustainably and manufactured responsibly while creating direct social impact to the lives of vulnerable groups with a give back model and strengthen social inclusion of children through our art therapy programmes. Their collections of unique products is produced from upcycled and recycled materials addressing environmental sustainability, in limited numbers to draw attention on responsible consumption and production.
BinYaprak is a digital marketplace for women and youth offering access to role models, capacity building events and networks for happy jobs. They organize the community engagement across different personas and questions these personas may have in their minds. They offer aspiring youth a safe, encouraging, digital place to find information, networks and inspiring role models who support them along the journey to make the right decisions to realize their potential in the workplace. Also, they offer accomplished people who love their profession a digital place to share their knowledge and make a difference in a young person’s life. They offer companies a digital marketplace to share their employee’s stories to introduce new company ambassadors, a place to take their corporate social responsibility impact to a digital place and a faster recruiting space.

Synopsis: A 3 day program which brings professionals from creative sectors and entrepreneurs together for content creation

Challenge: Realizing that powerful and well-transmitted stories are able to move crowds, our aim was to bring together entrepreneurs who will start the process of crowdfunding and professionals from creative sectors like Software Developers, Graphic Designers, Video Producers and Photographers, Directors and Editors, Writers and Journalists, Brand Strategists and Advertisers, to help startups success their goals of crowdfunding by conveying a strong message. 

Transformation: We opened the doors of Impact Hub Istanbul to 33 creators, 5 startups for 3 full days to facilitate creative processes. after the creators and entrepreneurs were matched the teams that will work for 2.5 days together were constructed. all teams worked on that venture’s specific needs in order to help them indigenise and tell their stories most effectively. last day of the program ….. mentors reviewed the contents that were developed for each startup separately and gave feedbacks. at the end of the program entrepreneurs presented their businesses with the content that was developed through the program.

Impact: Onlock, produce innovative door locks with automation and remote control. They prepared a video for their advertising.  

Kitto is a kit for building 3D printers. At Creathon, Kitto’s team was pationate about creating a marketing strategy.

Coolin is a portable medicine cooler for diabetese. They made video to disrupt the misperception towards diabetese. 

Stationear improves social life of the hearing impaired by being their voice. During Creathon, they decided to use real life examples to show how communication on the phone for a hearing impaired people is important.

Arikovani is a crowd funding platform for products which are technological and innovative. During Creathon, Arikovani improved their story as a crowd funding platform.




Synopsis: The Ye! Boostcamp is an intensive 2.5 day program designed to assist impact driven early stage entrepreneurs in developing their business idea into successful businesses through hands-on training and mentoring. In total, 10 teams participated the program. 

Challenge: The goal of this program was to support and mobilize impact driven early stage entrepreneurs through educating them on the principles of starting a social enterprise, develop their enterprising ideas and create the atmosphere for them to collaborate with like-minded people on changemaking ideas in the mean time to raise awareness about impact entrepreneurship.  

Transformation: We organized 6 workshops back to back, lasting 2 and half days. Including Brief Introduction to Social Business, Team Building Activities, Lean canvas, Strategic Analysis, Financial Analysis, and How to pitch your idea/ Storytelling, giving the early stage entrepreneurs the basic skill sets and information they need in order to survive in social entrepreneurship environment.

Synopsis: Unreasonable Labs is a Business Model Validation Lab designed by the international social entrepreneurship program to provide early/idea-stage entrepreneurs with a step-by-step methodology to rapidly and systematically validate their venture’s business model in 5.5 days. Impact Hub Istanbul designed and hosted the Turkey stage of the program. 

Challenge: Our goal was to help early-stage entrepreneurs, by giving a chance to test their business model on potential users, and then integrating their business models to real markets, by this we help social enrepreneurs to mold their business models and to take the next step.

Transformation: Flow of the program included 10 workshops , a mentor day, a pitching and networking event. Participating 7 groups of entrepreneurs had to chance to structure their business models and test it on potential users through the workshops conducted in the scope of the program such as Lean Canvas Workshop, Customer Discovery Workshop, Rapid Prototyping Workshop, Customer Validation Forum, Building Powerful Relationships Workshop, Cost Assumption Workshop, Strategic Road Map Workshop. Trainings were conducted by the Impact Hub Team.
